Gold Gloves are a lot cheaper than Heart of the Hides (rawlings baseball gloves).

Are the HoH a lot more durable and better in general? I don't want anything too soft. Any particular HoH's you would recommend?

Answer below outlining the differences was good. I'll add that with the HOH you'll get the deerskin lining, which will make the glove far more wearable for years to come. DO NOT purchase a glove on ebay. Too many counterfeits out there, not to mention stolen merchandise. Ya don't want the feds knocking on your door taking your glove away (it happens all the time with gloves and bats). Visit your local baseball speciality store, let the guys there help you decide based on your position, hand size, etc, and then buy the glove from them. HOH's should cost 159-169 (they will be 179 from all authorized dealers on July 1). The new Burgundy series HOH will be 199 when they reach stores in June/July depending on the model.

Support you local merchants, or soon you won't have any.

Each individual glove within a particular model will feel different. Another great reason NOT to buy over the internet, you really want to touch and try on YOUR GLOVE. And never buy a glove that someone else has already broken in. They might have used that worthless hot glove stuff, which will ruin your glove. Plus, you want to break in your own glove with your own hand, making the glove form to your hand and making it YOURS.

I have a Heart of the Hide and it is very good, but its not worth the extra 100. A glove is a glove and they shouldnt cost to 400 bucks for a glove.

rawlings has two pro series gloves. they are pro preferreds or heart of the hides. gold gloves are one step below those two. pro preferreds are their best series, but they are a bit expensive. i myself have a heart of the hide and a pro preferred. i like my pro preferred better, but the leather is less durable than the heart of the hide. the heart of the hide probably takes the longest to break in. if you have the time and patience get the heart of the hide. gold gloves wont last you a lifetime and their leather is just not as good. it gives you enough bang for your buck though. if you are older than 13 i would recommend the heart of the hide, if you are younger, get the gold glove and get a heart of the hide or pro preferred later. heart of the hides are definitelyt worht your money though. you can find them pretty cheap on ebay. you can get a used one if you dont want to spend the time breaking them in. if you play infield i would recomment the PRO200-9JB. you can also use that glove to pitch since it is a closed web. another good HOH infield glove is the PRO2006JBT. good outfield heart of the hides are PROTB24 and PRO3026JB. i hope this helped
