I am in absolute shock that some of you would even think to start Reggie Jackson over Mickey Mantle.

Absolutely terrible.

I don't even want to read this any longer.

This would be my all time Yankee team from 1946 to the present. I do it somewhat differently in that I base making the team on single season performance rather than career, and also the players that make the best "team".

NY Yankess 25 man roster

C - Yogi Berra - 1950

C - Elston Howard - 1961

1B - Jason Giambi - 2002

1B - Don Mattingly - 1986

2B - Willie Randolph - 1980

SS - Phil Rizzuto - 1950

UT - Gil McDougald - 1956(SS/2B/3B)

3B - Alex Rodriguez - 2005

3B - Andy Carey - 1954

OF - Joe DiMaggio - 1948

OF - Rickey Henderson - 1985

OF - Mickey Mantle - 1956

OF - Bernie Williams - 1999

OF - Bobby Mercer - 1971

SP - Ron Guidry - 1978

SP - Spud Chandler - 1946

SP- Fritz Peterson - 1969

SP - Catfish Hunter - 1975

RP - Sparky Lyle - 1972

RP - Luis Arroyo - 1961

RP - Mariano Rivera - 1996

RP - Ryan Duren - 1958

RP - Joe Page - 1947

RP - Rich Gossage - 1982

RP - Tom Gordon - 2004

NY Yankees 40 man roster

C - Jorge Posada - 2007

1B - Tino Martinez - 1997

2B - Alfonso Soriano - 2002

2B - Robinson Cano - 2006

SS - Derek Jeter - 1999

3B - Clete Boyer - 1962

OF - Dave Winfield - 1984

OF - Roger Maris - 1961

OF - Tommy Henrich - 1948

OF - Reggie Jackson - 1980

SP - Allie Reynolds - 1952

SP - Stan Bahnsen - 1968

SP - Bill Bevens - 1946

SP - Al Downing - 1963

RP - Steve Hamilton - 1968

I do this for every MLB team and the players that make up each team are based on many-many millions of computer simulations " best vs the best" . Choose a team of your own from the same time frame and play them against the above team. It's fun and hopefully you will learn something.

Answer: any lineup that doesn't include a juicer. You have to go back pretty far for that.
