Yankee hitters, for example, Derek Jeter, Alex Rodriguez, Mark Texiera (who's in a slump right now), Robinson Cano, and Curtis Granderson, just to give a few examples of destructive hitters when at work, are very patient at the plate. They can also consistently slug (extra base hits+home runs), meaning if they can consistently slug, they can immediately execute would-be outs; thus, the less outs in a half inning, the more time it will take to complete an inning. Hey, and sometimes innings, even half-innings, can take up to 45 minutes, or, if hitters are aggressively doing their jobs at the plate, crushing home runs and doubles and pinpointing close-call triples, innings and half-innings could take up an hour. And Yankee hitters tend to smash baseballs a long way at their best...

Their batters take a lot of pitches, which naturally drags the game on a bit.

Plus if you've ever paid close attention to a Jeter at-bat, the pitcher is usually ready to pitch but has to wait for him to go through his whole routine. A few seconds every at-bat eventually leads to 3.5 hour games even when they only go 9 innings.

because yankee hitters are very patient at the plate, causing the pitchers to throw more pitches, making each half inning take longer. this also causes the pitchers to throw more pitches and causes the team to get into the bullpen earlier so you have to wait in between pitchers so they can warm up, etc.

because they are patient hitters for the most part, they work the count and get deep into counts. That's part of the reason. plus when their offense is on fire, innings can take a long time, and they normally do score a ton of runs.

Because baseball games aren't exactly short and if both teams are very equally matched then you might as well get some snacks of put on Pawn Stars cause' their might be extra innings.

1) The umps let them take a little while longer because they're the Yankees

2) The Yankees foul off a lot of pitches to help the ump squeeze the other teams' pitchers, leading to more walks and more pitching changes

3) Other managers act like the game means more because it's the Yankees and over-manage by bringing in 40 pitchers a game like Ron Washington did last week

reason the god damn Yankees could desire to place a sparkling pitcher in each ten minutes. GOD the Yankees suck I recommend heavily.. 0.5 their video games are their stupid bullpen working to the mound.

You sound like umpire Joe West.

They take lots of pitches and work the count a lot.
