FOX would be ok, but I don't get ESPN, and I do have TBS....

I'm not complaining. I'm just glad I can watch it PERIOD.

The coverege of the mlb playoffs on TBS sucks. I say this for many reasons. I like the ESPN announcer John miller and Fox announcer Joe Buck way more then these tbs announcers. I am a cubs fan yes they suck, but it seems as if these announcers are cheering for the dbacks. They have nothing good to say about the cubs, all things are negative. In game 1 of the series, I didn't like the way they made a joke about Soriano and the way he leaps to catch fly balls. I also don't like the scoreboard, nothing can compare to Fox's scoreboard and visual effects. Also, they show the same replay atleast 5 times in the game. We get it, a good play happened, they don't have to show it 10 minutes. Also, in the Phillies and Rockies game, the announcers were so dull. They didn't say anyhing until something happened. Also, the picture just sucks. Also, the Redsox vs. Angles game announcers weren't very famaliar with each other and were saying false and stupid things. In my opinion and in a lot of peoples opinion, it was a mistake to give TBS the coverage of the playoffs and the nlcs. Next year, I hope that the division series goes back to FOX and ESPN and the nlcs, alcs, and world series goes back to FOX.

I thought the coverage was terrible. I watch baseball on a day to day basis and the playoff coverage on TBS isn't even as good as watching an ordinary game. I love this game and even I was bored out of my mind. The commentating was awful, i.e. Ron Darling....Ron Darling! Are you kidding! This is the playoffs! Not to mention the sound, I could barely hear the crowd and I don't think the bags had mics. I would take ESPN or Fox over tbs anytime. I just know that as passionate as I am about the sport, if I would rather watch re runs of Who's The Boss than sit through a tbs broadcast, I'm guessing alot of other people feel the same way.

I think this was a very stupid decision on the part of TBS. Not allowing a local station to broadcast games free from participating cities is ridiculous. There are people who can't afford cable, so is that the idea that cable-less people suffer during the playoffs? This is all about money, and quite frankly i'm not suprised at TBS' greediness. It's also a stupid decision for Fox to only carry coverage of the ALCS.

When the bastards at FOX and TBS make these decisions, it's all about how much money they can pocket. They don't care about the interest and well-being of the fans. It's all about them, basically. From my perspective, TBS doesn't even have great announcers, so i'm sure they'll put a few people to sleep during the games. What were they thinking?

I think TBS will suffer with low ratings, because of their inability to be fair to baseball as well as the fans. If someone puts a stop to the stupidity and madness, all fans from participating playoff cities will get to see baseball, cable or no-cable. It sucks not being able to watch your favorite team in the playoffs. Shame on FOX and especially TBS for doing such a f***ed up job, screwing over baseball fans everywhere.

The TBS coverage of the first round of the playoffs was horrible.

For one thing, the commercials (which were run over and over again) cut into the games! Especially in the third inning of the Boston-Angels game, in both the top of the inning and when the Angels were up, the commercials ran into the game. It ruined it, especially when one of the runs was being driven in.

Secondly, there were three bad calls by the umps in the Boston-Angels game: One being a supposed foul ball off a batters foot, (that went to third base,!) a second bad call on a throw-out at second when the runner (Lugo) was safe, and a third on a terrible call to Manny Rameriz on an outside ball but called strike for a strikeout.

The calls were terrible, but what was worse is that the announcers did not zoom in, talk about the action, and study the close play with camera shots. Instead, the moment that the sides changed, a third out was made, boom! Switch to commercials.

Ruined the MLB playoffs for me.

MLB should not be so greedy to let a third-rate station like TBS handle something like this. They should be ashamed of themselves. It's an insult to the game of baseball. TBS is over its head and out of its league.

ESPN or one of the credible networks, like NBC should have handled it. And I have to suffer through the rest of the games, almost to the World Series. :-(

TBS' coverage is downright painful. Four games into the ALCS and NLCS, during the Yankees-Indians game, I just had to mute the sound. But beyond the dry commentary, even more exasperating is the apparent lack of appreciation for the game. The cameras do not follow fouls; there are virtually no replays on close or questionable calls; and the game seems to return from commercial randomly, right in the middle of a count. Who on earth is the producer and why is he/she still employed?

TBS sucks. Fox's coverage is extra appropriate, in spite of the fact that in the event that they do have undesirable announcers. TBS's announcers are not relatively any stable the two even with the undeniable fact that, and their coverage is worse. i might pass with Fox right here.

These guys (going with guidelines) STINK. What a bunch of Yankee haters. By the 3rd inning of tonights game 1 they are making out like the playoffs are over. I am sorry to the Indians fans but was it really needed to interview that annoying guy that bangs the drum. Same thing yesterday and today with the Colorado games. It seems like whoeve scores first they go with and do the hurrah. I am turning off the volume tomorrow night.

Get rid of TBS

ppl need to understand that .. TBS is NEW AT THIS... if ppl dotn remeber fox was very rusty atfirst when they first started broadcasting games... this is the best MLB can do.. NBC will never broadcast the mlb for at least 20 years.. they are still bitter at each otehr from stuff in the 90's ..the foolish if the "baseball network" and suck... NBC vowed never to show mlb agian for many years... ABC will never pick itup because it owns ESPN ... espn already ahs enough food on its plate.. it would show games at undesrible times ..but yes it would do a good job of them.. what would espn do on mondays? .. baseball is going to limit as much sunday gaems as possible so it dosnt compete with the nfl head on...

what is espn gonan do on its mondays when it has to beef up its new baby child monday night fooball? ppl need to understand TBS took on the challenge cuz nobody else wanted to.. turner has wanted the mlb for years and i think they will do a good job... THERE ARE GROWING PAINS.. ppl need ot realize it.. i enjoyed what times the games were.. on. announcers were rusty but once they get used to each other and lure other big time announcers from networks things will be great.. fox sucks now.. joe buck is a fraud.. his father is a god in the baseball boot hand he should try and fill his own mold.. not doin nfl games then jumping in to the world series like u kno evreything.. be patiant ppl...

tbs is doin a alright job... ive had to deal with many years of crappy blue jays telecasts.. so i kno how bad it can get... its not that bad.. annoucers will get better with time.. they will get better onces once there contracts are up with espn.. or fox .. or radio

well theres always CBS? .. CBS dosnt have the outlets like NBC-universal.. or abc/espn does.. they could not carry the games all at once.. they resources could not handle it..

so tbs was really the only choice .. im sure espn put in a bid.. but tbs was more and better.. tbs dosnt have other commitments.. and it has tnt incase stuff carries over and has a good reputation as far as there nba broadcasts tho.. even with that it took time and now turner is the best at doin nba... from the studio.. to the booth .. pure quaility .. they will translate that to baseball they get passionate with what htey have.. cuz really... they dont have much lol

TBS does a good job with the Braves. The main problem in the first week will be that the commentators have never worked with eachother and will have to get to know eachother. It is almost like an all-star line up of announcers that people don't get to see too much because they are busy calling one team's games all year, but it will just take time for the announce teams to gel.

TBS Coverage does suck. I am in the process of e-mailing all of these sponsors to let them know how much I hated missing the beginning of the NYY vs Clevland game.

Heck yeah! It absolutely sucks! I would loooooove it if the playoffs could be back on Fox...I got so used to watching FSN Rocky Mountain that when we watched the Rockies/Padres game on Monday I was like..."Wait, who are these idiots broadcasting?!" Then I realized it was on TBS....ugh...

It is SUCH a great thing Fox has the telecasting rights to the World Series!

The announcers for the Red Sox-Angels game were terrible! They clearly were unfamiliar with both teams and did not offer any useful commentary. The dumbest moment had to be when Cal Ripken was asked how he'd handle batting against Josh Beckett and he answered "stand close to the base and let Beckett hit me with the ball". Oy vey!

It totally should've been on ESPN!

Some of it has been okay. I like Steve Stone. But it would definitely be better with guys like Joe Buck and Jon Miller calling the action.

Stockton/Darling duo calling the Cubs/D-Backs game so far talk too much and don't really say all that much worthwhile.

This is horrible!!!!!!!!!!!!! I won't be able to sit through the LDS and LCS series with this boring, monotonous, anti-climatic coverage!!! I didn't even realize that a new television deal was in effect. I miss ESPN and FOX...who can we complain to about this?????

YES!!!!!!!!! The Red Sox game was way off! They missed plays because of commercials, the announcers were not even paying attention (they had no idea how many outs there were). The announcers also had no enthusiasm, the game is slow enough, please show some emotion in your call of it.

Why can't the local network show the games in their own areas?

Yep...it sucks big time. Especially since I'm a Cubs fan without cable. I think Fox should have it. But, then, it's all about money these days.

How do you see it coming?? It goes to the highest bidder each year.
