Oh, so many reasons as to why I hate the Yanks. Being a Jays fan, it's the most annoying thing ever.

Their fans think they are the greatest team in all of sports. People who have previously answered have already stated that they are such a great team. Guess what? They aren't that great. Teams are spending way less than them, and are performing at equal or greater levels. Do I need to bring up the Rays? Yankees fans will say, "oh, we make money, so we spend it on good players, and that's why we're so good." False. No salary cap makes the Yankees better. If these people knew anything about baseball, they would know that. Yankees would be nowhere with a salary cap in place. Just because they've built up money over the years shouldn't mean that they can have 7 times the money to spend on players. Most teams wouldn't be able to afford the Yankees infield, let alone the entire team. But of course the Yankees can buy all their players. Let's see who has been with them from the start. Jeter, Cano, Posada, Rivera, Gardner, Hughes, and Pettitte? Vazquez, A-Rod, Granderson, CC, Teixeira, Swisher. The list goes on. And it happens every year. They over pay on players because THEY CAN. That's why they get them and other teams don't. You think Vazquez is worth $11.5 million? He's currently posting a 5.01 ERA, with just over a 2:1 K to BB. Pathetic. To bring into perspective, Ricky Romero of the Jays, is earning $400,000 this year. 6-3, 2.85 ERA, 101 K's, and we're not even done June.

You know who else I hate? A-Rod. Classless player. Took steroids. Enough said, right? No. He came to Toronto a couple of years ago with the Yanks, and was running from 2nd to 3rd on a pop fly to the 3rd baseman, and yelled out "MINE" as he was running by. Jays 3rd baseman backed off, thinking the SS was taking it, and the ball dropped. Classless. That's what he is. That's what the organization is. A bunch of arrogant morons. Anybody that isn't a Yankees fan, hates the Yankees and their fans.

I hope they blow it this year. Go .450 for the rest of the year. Not sure if it was 2 or 3 years ago, but the Yanks didn't make the playoffs. How do you spend $200-something million on a team, and not make the postseason? Pathetic. It's because the team isn't as good as people think they are, and players are making way too much for what they are putting out.

Yuck the Fankees. Go Jays Go.

The Yankees are succesful only because they can buy any player they went for any price. If my teams payroll for 3 players was more then 300 million I guarentee my team would win the World Series 27 times. In the early 1900s they were actually good and didnt buy any player they want. Now with George Steinbrenner as their owner hey have an unllimited source of money. They will be succesful for many more years for 3 reasons. 1. They have money 2. People will support the Yankees because they want to say their favorite tame is the Yankees 3. Every other team except the Red Sox , Angels, Dodgers, and Mets are small or medium market teams and will have to trade their good players to stay in business. And guess who will buy their players from these teams? The Yankees. A great example is C.C. Sabathia. The Indians could no longer afford to keep him so they traded him to the Brewers. He then became a free agent and the Yankees offered him the most money, a 7 year, $161 million deal. In 1998 the Yankees had 11 all-stars, thats enough to have a baseball team. Expect to see the Yankees lifting the trophy in future years.

I dislike them. They are a money-grubbing organization. They've got the highest payroll ever, it's disgusting. A-Rod makes more than the entire Marlins starting team or something like that, and that's just ridiculous. What really took the cake was the new stadium. I mean, they got rid of The House that Ruth Built, something they're supposed to be proud of. I'm not a Yankees fan, but I can sure appreciate that history! AND the new stadium is smaller, to where pretty much anyone can hit home runs there, which is just for more homeruns and more publicity, etc. AND the new stadium was built on a bunch of fields for kids in the projects. That's just great. Really great. So, I really don't like them. Sorry about my rant, but the truth must be told. haha.

I don't like the whole "If you have the money, spend it" gig because lots of the money that the organization has is from Steinbrenner's separate funds. I mean, fine, they can do it if they want, but I say, just focus on baseball.

I do like Jeter and couple of other players who don't think they're God's gift to everyone but on the whole, I don't like them.

hey guy above me, grow up?

The yankees have won enough games and earned enough money throughout the years so why not spend it? Everyone brings up payroll but when someone brings up history its nonsense, face the facts. The mlbpa will NEVER agree on a salary cap, or anything worthwhile. YOU my friend are the reason why I cannot respect any person with your point of view. Really, get past the fact that the yankees may have made moves to improve their team. Pretty sure the majority of the GOOD teams in the mlb buy a majority of their players, it is a business isn't it. The jays are a joke and they always will be. You get what you put into the BUSINESS, you put in money and you will probably get success. It turns out to be a sport and money isnt everything but look at all the major sports, the lakers and celtics have won more than half the championships, and the yankees will be at 30 championships within half a decade, get over it.

College sports are the same way and just now are they cutting down on it. No one cares that teams like USC literally bribe their players to come to their school while other small schools in the competing pipeline struggle to recruit.

Go yankees, and to the person a few people above me, how did you get those stats. 75% of yankee fans know nothing?? Yea you probably know baseball real well...you probably played little league baseball and possibly some beer league softball in the past few months. Ever make it past that? Probably not.

as a die-hard fan I can't stand people who use stupid arguments like oh, 27 world series, we are obviously going to beat you today, and all the bandwagoners. But they make money, you should be able to spend it. When you have a great ownership that makes money, and spends money when it needs to to help the team win, thats what teams need to learn how to do. Too many owners pocket money.

Edit: I don't think people realize how many players the yankees have developed. their best player right now, Cano, was out of the farm system, as if the Core Four including the MVP of the last 15 years- Mo, Cervelli, Gardner, Joba, Hughes, our entire bench, most of our pen. Just because we buy a lot of big-name players, the Yanks have just as many developed players as any other big-market team.

And the Mets miss the playoffs with almost a 200 million payroll. Why is the payroll brought up as something unbelievable when they miss the playoffs, and an excuse when they do?

Don't get pissed at Yankee fans with their stupid 27 championship titles argument when you make the same stupid excuses for your team. The Rays proved that you can win with a small payroll so why don't you develop your players and contend?
4-3.

They have to have the most annoying bandwagon fans in the history of sports. Oh my god, bandwagon Yankees fans are the worse. Absolute worse. The loyal Yankees fans are cool for the most part(kinda) and know their baseball. The bandwagon Yankees fans(75%) are horrible, and obnoxious and know nothing about baseball except that it's the popular choice to love the Yankees and hate the Red Sox.

It's unfortunate for the loyal Yankees fans out there, that as soon as they name their favorite team they will most likely be called a bandwagon fan.

The New York Yankees have been the greatest team in baseball in modern times , since 1920.

They have also had the most admired players; Ruth , Gehrig , Dimaggio, Berra, Mantle, Maris, etc.

A visit to the old Yankee Stadium was a very special event. Many have had the wish to play just one inning in Yankee Stadium.

I absolutely love the Yankees and they will always be my favorite team.

However I cannot STAND the bandwagon fans that take it upon themselves to embarrass the real fans. It's so annoying, I wish they could get some brains. It's just embarrassing and unnecessary.

As for the money thing....obviously the payroll gives us an advantage and I can see why it bothers other teams' fans, but like you said...if you have the money, spend it. They must have gotten their money from somewhere, and if you have the money, use it. Sometimes I think people forget about the great Yankees farm system, though...a lot of their every day players came up through the system.

Eh, I might as well get ready for a lot of thumbs down... :P

They are the BEST team in the UNIVERSE and continues to prove it season after season. I'm proud to call myself a DEVOTED Yankee fan.

Though I don't mind other Yankee supporters, I would wish that the bandwagoners not give the Yankee fanbase a bad name because it makes the real fans (like myself) look bad.

The Yankees, like every other team, are going to go the max for an elite player so I don't want to hear about the Yankees buying their players because other teams does the same thing. Other teams and their fans are just jealous because the player chose to go to the Yankees so blame the player, not the team.

The Yankees are a great team with winning attitude and the know-how to get it done the "right" way, they were that way in the 1920's and they are that way now, but everything else around them, represents what is wrong with baseball and life, in general.

This country is in bad shape, and there is going to be a revolution.
