For some odd reason people have made fun of roger clemens for saying in front of congress that he believes that somebody misremembered something... while for a while i thought it wasnt a word, my college english professor used it and i even looked it up to find that it is actually a word. so why is it a joke?

Because more likely than not he's not telling the truth.

Stupid is not synonymous with incorrect.

It has nothing to do with grammar or whether or not misremembered is a word. The grammar is correct, misremembered is a word, and it was used correctly in context.

It is stupid because of Clemens' apparent belief that he is fooling people with his evasive answers and lies. That is what people are making fun of. "Andy misremembered" ...yeah, sure he did, Roger.

It is just one more that gets added to Clemens list:

"I did not have an affair with Mindy McReady" (or whatever her name was)

"I was just trying to toss the bat head out of the way"

"I am definitely retired"

It's not funny, it's stupid.

"I believe Andy misremembered." - Roger Clemens

He needs to lay off the crack.

Yea it was confusing. He is still saying he has never taken steroids or had an affair with an underage girl. So what exactly is he apologizing for? His "flaws." What does that even mean? He really had nothing new to add and was kind of talking in circles.

In this case, it is a way for Roger Clemens to get out of charges pressed against him for lying.
