Is it really so fun to sit in the Bleachers at a Chicago Cubs game?

Unless you are a true lover of the sport, actually going to a Baseball game is boring and Cubs fans particularly obnoxious... I went once to a Cubs game in 1973, and never went back. My team, the Cincinnati Reds lost, and the fans sitting near me practically rubbed it in.. I didn't like that, and I came to the conclusion I didn't really like it in there..
.Best not to even enter the ball park, period. But , what some do is go to a nearby building roof to see the game and also party drinking cheaper beer, or outdoor barbecueing... More fun than in the park, honest...

Where is the best seating?.. Some say the Bleachers, but the Bleachers, albeit cheap, are out in the direct sun, and you may get sunburn..

I'd say the Grandstand is best, because you have an overall view of the whole game from behind home plate... If you are rich, the most expensive seats nearest to Home Plate are the best, but mostly reserved. There is always TV, and it is free you know.

Bandwagon Wrigley fans will tell you the trendy bleachers are the best place to sit. The bleachers were originally set up as "poor mans" seats. In the 1970's there was a TV show in Chicago called "the Bleacher bums" , I think it may have been a movie also,The original bleacher bums would bring baseballs to the game, and when an oposing player hit a home run thye would throw a ball back onto the field. Now people throw actual home run balls back, I think thats the gayest tradition in baseball. people sitting in left field would shout " Right field sucks", and vice versa. SO are they the best seats, not by a long shot, it is just were all the party goers say you have to sit. I've heard people say that if they can't sit in the bleachers, they won't go to a game.

Most seating at Wrigley is pretty bad because they have so many obstructed views because of the polls holding up the upper deck and the roof, and back in the 80's owners added sky boxes to create even more obstructed views. So the best seats are the first 15 rows of the lower deck and the first 10 rows of the upper deck.

I have been in the bleachers at Wrigley Field when I was like 8 and I heard badmouthing for wearing Cardinals stuff THEN. I was 8 years old. There's way too many drunks out there. None of them really understand the game it seems like. Not saying all Cubs fans are like that.

Another example is last year when the Cards were there for a game, there was a bad call that went against the Cubs and fans from the bleachers starting throwing bottles, food, etc. onto the field.

That's the sort of class you see at the "friendly confines" of Wrigley Field.

It's really just a circus environment out there. I agree that Wrigley is a nice little piece of history for baseball but it's overrated and the late, great Jack Buck had this to say about it: "Everyone's afraid to say it but I'm not: Wrigley Field needs to be torn down. The Cubs need a new stadium. This place is falling apart."

I will never sit in another seat at Wrigley. The Bleachers are by far the finest seats on earth for baseball fans - granted opposing fans will be berated -but now you know that up front and will be ready to take it. Don't believe that everyone is drunk or has issues...the bleachers is a place for friends, lovers, families, take your sign if you have one and try to make friends with the camera guys and the friendly gal in the restroom where you or your girlfriend will get unbelievable things like scented lotions and cologne in the restroom!

Bleacher Bums are unforgiving to rival fans. That is why you didn't have a good time in the bleacher seats.

You might have had a better time in the Grand Stand of Wrigley, more of your average Cub fans.

I love the bleachers because I'm a Cubs Fan.

The grandstand seats are way better to watch the game from!! I went up there back in 1984 and watched my REds play the Cubbies and we sat in the bleachers and it sucked! The fans out there are drunk and obnoxious (and nauseous), the grandstand fans are a better class of fans because they're not some hilljacks that can't afford to be there anyway and that snuck a flask of Wild turkey in!!! Thats why they are called Bleacher Bums!!! Thats exactly what they are!!!

Well like I asked about seating is I dunno where to sit.....But Im pretty sure I dont want bleachers. First game I dont think should be cheap...I want to see the action as well. IM sorrry you didnt enjoy your expeirence though,....I know I will

And now that I've heard everyones opinion I probably wont pick bleachers. As for drunks....who doesnt have a drink at a game?? Im not saying getting intoxicated, but im sure alot of people drink. I've heard many great things about wrigley, my fam goes to most of the cubs home games each year. So Im sure I'll have fun....bleachers or not

It's fun if you like drunks, yuppies talking about everything under the sun except baseball, whining, tough talk, people with 'personal space', and on and on. I've gone there plenty. I'll never go again.
