Question:
Is Baseball Tonight unwatchable?

Sure you get to see the highlights, but only a few lines of stats filter through. Most of the program you have someone reporting on the dump Barry took that morning and some adult who goes by the name 'Buster' trying to give you insight.

ps
Peter Gammons is a pathological liar.

My least favorite part is John Kruk's useless input. Yeah we get Kruky, you're a good 'ol boy, the bit is getting old. I like Karl Ravech but I can't take the analyst input. For example, after Ryan Howard's 505 ft. HR, Dusty Baker says "He hit that ball along way." Really, no s#$t! Great input! And Tim Kurkjian's cracking voice is annoying too. He looks and sounds like he's going through puberty and bases everything off stats. Plus those guys would let anyone into the Hall of Fame if it was up to them. C'mon, The Hall of Fame is a sacred place for Baseball's elite, the more that get in, the less it means. I've never heard them say someone shouldn't get in. They're all for it, Biggio, Thomas, MArk Loretta, Alex Cora, Terry Steinbach, Spike Owen, Steve Wilson.......let emi' in! They need to get someone with an edge, and I miss Harold Reynolds.

Yes I loved Harold Reynolds as well. I miss him. He got fired for some bullshit too.

And Peter Gammons is a great man, don't bash him please, he along with H.R. represents everything that was good about Baseball Tonight.

Fernando Vina, Eduardo Perez, Orestes Estrada, and Eric Young are AWFUL. I don't mind Karl Ravech but that Berthiaume guy or whatever isn't very good and Kruk is entertaining every once in a while, he was alright when Harold was still there to keep him in check. Kurkjian is annoying as balls but at least he knows what he's talking about and makes relevant points, Buster Olney as well.

But my least favorite person on that show by far has to be Steve Phillips. The guy went to the same high school as me so you'd think maybe I'd give him a break but then I think about how many people I went to high school with that I actually like and I realize why I think he's such a douchebag. Half of what he says nearly makes my head explode. Here's a guy who once said "Cliff Lee is the best left-handed pitcher in baseball." What!? Santana, Sabathia, Rogers, Glavine, Buehrle, Pettitte, Mulder, Randy Johnson, even Randy Wolf. Nope ... Cliff Lee. My God what an idiot.

I like Baseball Tonight. I think the analysis is good, and they show you the stuff that you need to know about the game and sum it up. It gives me my typical baseball fix and gets me into the sports mood for the 1AM SC.

They cover Barry a lot, but in all honesty, they should. He's about to break the most revered record in sports, and theres no hard evidence that he did it unnaturally. They have no choice.

Buster Olney is a very respectable baseball writer that has a Hall Of Fame vote and writes baseball columns and has many many contacts within front offices of teams. Olney has what it takes to be a general manager on a lot of teams, but chooses to deal with things from the other side of the fence.

Peter Gammons is possibly the most respected baseball journalist. He's been around for 40 years. He's overcome a brain aneurysm. He's done a ton of stuff for charity, and also has a Hall of Fame vote. He has such a powerful influence, many of the things the Red Sox have done in the past 10 years have revolved around analysis and thoughts by Gammons, as it says in Bill Simmons book.

How did Peter Gammons ever get to be so high on your radar screen that you would call him a pathological liar?? I happen to like both him and Baseball tonight. They give good stats and do not overdo the coverage.

I actually like the show (a lot). I LOVE baseball, so to have a show that doesn't switch back to talking about football or hockey or how much the Celtics suck is nice. However, Harold Reynolds, to me, was the best analysis they had on their. I miss him. He's awesome.

Buster Olney isn't that bad. He's actually pretty knowledgeable about baseball.

They always take turns sharing their Top 3 about things. Like, the other night, they did their Top 3 pitchers who would pitch into their 40s. How often do you talk about that? Other things about baseball just talk about Barry Bonds and how bad the Yankees are struggling.

I LOVE 'BASEBALL TONIGHT'!!!

No way! Baseball Tonight has tons of info. If you have a problem with it, don't watch it and get the stats from same other show or the internet.

Get your scores and stats from the internet and watch (or DVR) This Week In Baseball on Saturdays... TWIB is much more fun and comes without all the pontificating morons.

As one of the few programs on TV devoted solely to baseball, you'd think they would do a better job of it, wouldn't you?

Where's the passion?!?

The show needs a total revamp cuz they don't know their audience.
