All pitchers pitch around the 90 mph's. You will usually see 95-99, just barely under 100. It is very rare that you will see this done, probably less than once every couple days of baseball, which includes 14 to 15 games, but I have seen it done many times. I have been an avid Anaheim Angel's fan for about 5 years and I see it every once in a while but remember that you have to watch the the top of the TV screen to see the speed. Usually when it happens, at least for the Angels network, the speed will be covered in flame animation will play a crackling flame sound to make it noticeable.

I would guess that fewer than 1% of pitches thrown in MLB games hit 100 mph. As far as how many pitches are capable of doing it, I'd guess less than 5%.

Players that currently can reach 100 mph are:
Neftali Perez
Stephen Strasburgh
Aroldis Chapman
Joel Zumaya
Jonathan Broxton
Daniel Bard
Justin Verlander
Bobby Jenks
Matt Lindstrom
Joba Chamberlain
Ubaldo Jimenez
Brian Wilson
and many more.
Several minor league players have high velocities as well.
and many more.
Also, that dude that said Peter Strasburgh is not right. Look at my answer.

Yes, there's a handful actually. A lot are relievers because starters get used to not throwing as hard so that they'll last longer. I can't name them all, but a couple I can name are Daniel Bard and Neftali Feliz. I also know that Stephen Strasburg, who isn't in the majors yet can throw 100.

There are several. Usually they are Relievers though because then they are only pitching 1 inning or so-- then they can really put the heat on the ball.
Joel Zumaya for the Detroit Tigers is often the first one thought of.

I know Broxton, the dodger closer, can hit 100mph. i don't think any pitcher can consistently throw 100 every pitch, but there are some who can get a few in there.

The Detroit Tigers have 2 on their roster and there is a rookie Peter Strasburg that can hit 100 even 103.

Joel Zumaya (Detroit Tigers) hit 102 a week or two ago, and hit 104 4 years ago.

I personally saw Joel "Zoom Zoom" Zumaya of the Tigers do it on Thursday. Verlander was often close today.

There's also that Cuban defector the Reds picked up this year, Aroldis Champman. He's suppose to be able to hit that 100mph mark from what I've heard.

I don't think so? I'm not a baseball fan but if Nolan Ryan pitched that 101 MPH fastball back then and it was the world record, I can't see how easy it would be to even hit 3 digits.
