Question:
Why does Parking at Dodger Stadium suck so bad?

I've been to dozens of sports venues and for some reason Dodger Stadium has the biggest problem getting people into the game quickly to park; especially the GA parking.

Last night it took me 50 minutes to get from Sunset Blvd to my parking spot (1/8 mile). It seemed like they had hundreds of parking attendant there to 'help', but it certainly wasn't quick. In fact, they were making people park 1 car at a time. It was ridiculous. On top of that, they increased the parking fee from $10 to $15. I heard rumors they were fixing parking, but it certainly isn't better than last year (last year sucked too).

Until the parking process is no longer a waste of time, no more dodger games for me.

Anaheim Stadium, The Rose Bowl, Qualcomm Stadium, The Pond, The Forum, The Coliseum, and others seem to know what they are doing. Why don’t the people who run parking for the Dodgers?

Dodger Stadium simply has too many cars coming in to park one at a time in these designated lots; furthermore, by parking cars in the lots closest to the gates these vehicles enter from, there simply isn't enough room for a queue to form between the ticket booths and the parking spaces, resulting in a massive back-up onto public streets. Contrast this to parking at other facilities, such as Angel Stadium, or even Disneyland. Here, you have cars enter a booth at the far edge of the property, then drive a little bit to the lot, and queue for parking in the actual parking lot, as opposed to streets. The advantage here is that the parking management can divide parking into several sections if everyone queues inside the property, reducing the queue time, as opposed to Dodger Stadium, where you can't create several sections if everyone's waiting in the streets, nor if they're unwilling to let people from the Sunset Gate park in the Hollywood Gate's lot, even though there's not half as many vehicles coming from the Hollywood Gate.

To make a better system, they need to handle the assignment of different lots once the cars are in the property, not determine it by what street the car took to get to the Stadium.

How about right next to the 3rd base side bullpen front row 10 feet from Tim lincencum warming up for 30 dollars a ticket? Go for that instead. Its worth it. Its also not hot in San Fran pretty much ever. I have next summers forecast right here for San Francisco. 60 to 70 degrees and sunny.

It's the baseball gods way of punishing the Dodgers and there fans for taking them away from Brooklyn.
