How many Home Runs would Ken Griffey Jr. would have had by now if was health for his entire career? Note: He just hit his 600 June 9th 2008.
I calculate about 123 more than he currently has.

2nd question: Could he have been the HR leader? Would he have been better liked more than Barry Bonds?

Coulda, shoulda, would...it doesn't matter. He could have been the greatest homerun hitter ever. He should have been the first person to pass Hank Aaron. The man was a Gold Glove outfielder, Silver Slugger, could run the bases, he was the best baseball player I have ever had the pleasure of watching. Such a beautiful swing. No doubt in my mind he would have been the first to 800. He would have been easily over 700 if he was healthy.

For the second part of your question, I think just about anyone is more liked than Bonds. Griffey for sure. Always had that smile on his face, the swagger of confidence borderline cocky. But could back it up. One of the greatest ever, even with the injuries.

I calculated that he would have had 85 more, given the pace he was on each injured season. I also think the would have had 16 more during the strike, which equals around 110 more HR. Close to what you got. I'd say that was 710, not 600 saying no injuries/setbacks.

Yes, at that pace he could be the HR leader. If right now he is 53 HR away, he'd definitely stick around. However right now, being 160 HR away. Forget it. And everyone would like Griffey better. He's quiet, humble and he has been a kid's role model ever since I can remember him coming up. Griffey was, and still should be one of the few faces of this game.

how many he would have hit is debateable because hte man just could not stay healthy. i feel bad for the guy bcuz he has the smoothest swing in all of baseball history, hands down.

to answer your second one he maybe could have been the hr leader, but what can you really measure from "IFs"

but YES he would have been much more liked than bonds, no question. i love griffey and hate bonds and i would have loved to see griffey as the king. thats what this sport needs

We'll never know how many HR's he could have hit, we do know that he did hit 600 up to now. Only 6 players have hit that many and 2 (Bonds & Sosa) may be tainted. I think that it is no brainer that Griffey is liked better that Bonds. Bonds is liked only in SF.

According to Tim Kurkjin of ESPN.com Griffey Jr. Had the potential to 800 homeruns but due to his health was unable to reach that number. IF he stayed in seatlle i believe he would of had at least 750 homeruns for sure.( And without the problems of Bonds.)

Bonds was hurt for a while too. So calculate that. Also what if Mickey Mantle didn't get hurt, or Ted Williams in the military. Every player gets hurt or misses time so you can't play the What if... game.

As for your second question, absolutely, he would be way more liked than Bonds

Ramirez, the two are rather commencing as much as lose it yet ramirez has slightly greater left interior the tank i think of. Griffey could desire to end the season with 18 homers whilst i think of Ramirez could have approximately 28 if neither has harm issues.

I am not familiar with his injuries, and how long he had them. Ken Griffey Jr. is not that old, ASAIK, and he could still break the record.

742. people would have rooted for Griffey to pass Hank. with Bonds, even if it turns out he did it naturally, he's still a jerk.

If he was healthy for at least most of his career he would for sure beat Barry's mark. He could have been the greatest but he wasnt. I just hope he wasnt using steroids or HGH.

He's 38 years old and has serious issues with injuries. I doubt he's going to break the record. Sure, it would be awesome if he did...but I dont think its going to happen.
