Well, two answers weren't really helpful were they? And the second guy ain't got a clue!

In fastpitch (except for 10U girls) the ball is 12" in diameter. In slowpitch the ball is 12" in diameter. 12" and 12" are both the same size!!

There is no difference between a fastpitch glove and a slowpitch glove. There IS a difference in a baseball glove, it has a smaller pocket. There are some size requirements in FED ball, but most gloves you will consider are legal.

You can not have a glove which is more than 2 colors, (this excludes lacing and printing). A totally white, gray, or optic colored glove is illegal.

A red, white and blue glove then would be illegal, but a red and white glove with blue lacing would be legal! Crazy rules!

Find one that fits well and feels good. Treat it as a friend!

Unless you play catcher, you can almost always use fast-pitch and slow-pitch gloves interchangeably. Some manufacturers label their softball gloves as either fast-pitch or slow-pitch models, but with a few exceptions, you don’t need to pay attention to those labels, because all softball gloves are designed to catch the larger ball. If you’re a fast-pitch pitcher, however, make sure to buy a glove with solid webbing so hitters can’t see the ball when it’s in your glove. Otherwise, the position of your hand on the seams might be visible, which could tip the hitter off to the type of pitch you’re going to throw. This caution isn’t necessary in the slow-pitch game. Even if you can throw a curve, your pitch will travel much too slowly to fool the hitter, so it doesn’t matter if she knows what’s coming.

Fast pitch softball and slow pitch softball are played with two different size balls. Slow Pitch balls are a lot bigger. So first find out what game you will be playing and then buy a glove for that game. Or buy both.

Fast pitch. Definitely.

Fast pitch is usually in my perspective, the type of way they play softball these days, I have a fast pitch softball glove myself. Slow pitch is for slow pitch softball games, where you basically throw underhand and it's played how it's sound. The slow pitch softball games are pretty 'slow' and don't go very 'fast'.
