I the Cubs traded him to the Orioles but I haven't heard anything about him since then and I know that was a few years ago.

He is now playing for Texas. He had a pretty good start (Hrs) but is starting to cool off. He isn't doing really anything notable this season and I doubt he will.

Sammy Sosa spent the 2006 season in retirement. In 2007 the Texas Rangers offered him a 1 year minor league contract and an invitation to spring training. He is currently starting in right field for the 2007 Texas Rangers major league squad.

he is here in Texas, playing for the lowly Rangers! Sadly he is leading the team in HR's and that is just plain sad! He had a great spring, made the team off a minor league contract. Plays RF here and there and then DH. He can not succeed with the bases juice as he is 0-4 with 4 k's! He still hops even on ball that dont make it to the track and still thinks his **** doesnt stink! He gets spelled for Nelson Cruz in RF when he gets tired which is often. He gets booed everywhere he goes and Texas we like the Chant "Sammy" even tho we all booed him when he would come to town with Baltimore and ridicule him! He once was a 19 yr 155 pounder that spoke english, but on trial he was a 255 punder that knew no english! He will 600, make the Hall and shame Baseball! He however is not alone in doing that so cant just blame Sammy!

He is playing for the Texas Rangers this year after sitting out for the 2006 season. The Rangers offered him a tryout in spring training and he made the roster. Rangers must not have had any outfielders for him to compete against. He started the season off a little slow and then caught fire hitting 9 homers. He then got hit by a pitch in the head (like the time in Chicago) and he has since gone cold.

sosa had a very poor year with baltimore in 2005
he took 2006 off in order to get his head straight and help out his charity in the D.R.
spring 2007 he was invited to Texas Rangers minicamp and after a very good spring training was offered a one-year deal by Texas

He retired in 2006 and came back in 2007 to play for Texas. He is having a pretty good year so far and is on a quest to get his 600th career homerun.
