Johnny Damon is the greatest Yankees CF in the last decade. He sacrifices his body to get the final out, and doesn't care if he would get injured while doing it. Even though he has the worst arm in baseball, so what? Johnny Damon is the best Yankees CF in the past decade.

In the full MLB, I'd probably say that Torii Hunter is an awesome CF, because he's got accuracy, a great arm, speed, and can rob many homers. Although Torii did let someone get an inside-the-parker in the ALDS 2006.

My guess would be Carlos Beltran. He's not an All-Star for nothing! He makes the fans take notice. Even those that don't cheer on the Mets.

I assume Jim Edmonds is one of the best in the past few years, although he was injured last year.

I'm not much for sabermetrics so I'm not gonna answer your question, but I will, however, inform you that the best centerfielder is Andruw Jones. And it's really not that close.

Your asking for too much in one question. You should try looking it up instead of asking it here.

Great question but a toughie... without a subscription to Baseball Prospectus, I wasn't able to get any sortable information for 2006 at this URL (which list all position players):

http://www.baseballprospectus.com/statistics/sortable/index.php?cid=9653

The best I was able to turn up was a pre-sorted "best of 2005" list based on the B.Prospectus' metrics - below...

Best of 2005:

http://www.rotoauthority.com/best_of_2005/index.html

Permalink - Best Centerfielders of 2005:

http://www.rotoauthority.com/2005/11/best_of_2005_ce.html

I'm aware that this list is not really all that useful since these ratings can change dramatically from one year to the next.

Maybe the best solution is to contact RotoAuthority and find out when they'll make their 2006 list available. I have a suspicion, though I didn't verify... that perhaps Baseball Prospectus considers the sortable data proprietary. This might explain the lack of sites that are using or posting this information.

Good luck!
