Personally, I don't care. But I've heard some people who are really upset about it.

What do you think?

No, I mean if you think about it, you are poor and all you know is baseball, trying to catch a break so you can get a career in the big leauges and make some money, suppourt your family... are you seriously gonna blow that because you're a few years older than the scout would have liked? i don't think so. The poor people in the other countries just want a chance to make something of their selves, and they can get it from baseball. a few years means nothing.

It Doesn't Kill Me That I Know But I Rather Him Tell His Age In The Beginning Of His Career With The Orioles Then Now!

He Made A Bad Choice! That's What I Think!

Good Luck!

EDIT: The Only Reason I'm Not Totally Upset With Him Is Because People Have Done It Before!

HELL NO IM NOT UPSET. alot of pro sports player in every sport do that. some do it on purpose, but some actually dont know their real birthday. they were just told it was a certain date by their parents. when it comes to some big bucks like that i would lie about my age too. no one wants a 19 year old from down there, but they would drool over a prospect like tejada at 17. ill bet ozzie is damn near 60. ill bet arod is even older than he says he is. do u really think big papi is 32 lol. did u really think pedro was only 36 ill bet hes 45 damn near 50 lol. THE BAD PART IS ANYONE THAT IS ON A CRAPPY TEAM CAN JUST PULL THE I WAS 15 WHEN I SIGNED THAT NOT 18 NOT A LEGAL CONTRACT SO VOID LOL

people are bringing up danny almonte. what danny almonte did was actually bad because kids get bigger and stronger as they age so he had an unfair advantage as an older kid. And he broke little league rules. miguel tejada lied about his age as pro baseball player and it really doesn't not matter to me as a fan, but i think the teams would like to know what his true age is when they consider signing him or trading for him.

Nothing surprises me any more about sports in general. There is such a lack of integrity among athletes that money is the only focus anymore. They will do and say anything as long as the money is right. I'm sick and tired of being victimized with insane ticket prices and indifference by the athletes who profit from people like you and me.

Tejada is just one is a long line of liars and cheaters. This is just another example of Bud Selig and his gross incompetence. Baseball is way overdue for a real commissioner.

No, I would have done the same. You are a more valuable prospect if you are younger, so he lied about being young which is totally acceptable because where he comes from people are poor and baseball is a way to get ahead in life.

It doesnt bother me one little bit but, if I were the team paying him big money and I thought he was younger than he really is, I would be pretty upset. Lots of time contracts are based on age and if you take off 2 years, that is quite a bit.

Well I was pissed when I learned that Danny Almonte lied about his age...but come on.

They can't figure out how old Jose Contreas is, or Julio Franco.

Age is just a number, geez, people need to get over it.

Good luck!!

Edit: Hey Schwaaa...what's up with the first letter of each word being a capital?

No... that's stupid to be upset about. He lied and said he was 2 years younger than he actually was. WHO CARES. It's not like he lied and said he was 10 years younger than he really was.

Anyone that has a problem with it takes for granted our way of life. We don't know, nor will we ever understand what people in other countries have to go thru. All he did was "take care" of himself to make a better life.

think about that, before ANY of you judge him. thank a Vet!

Well, a lie is a lie but it is not as bad when you're in the 30's than with Danny Almonte.

He has had a rough career as of late with injuries so no. Plus what can you do,he's been playing for so long, kick him out, he will retire in a couple years anyways

I don't care as well.

Age is only a number, and everyone is getting so worked up over a little thing like this.

i wouldnt say it upsets me, he only did it to get a better offer from teams but it is ridiculous. the fact that people can get away with that for decades is terrible, but in reality, what can you do?
