Question:
Baseball Links: Your Favorite Site and Why?
2007-01-18 21:46:41 UTC
I am NOT talking about espn, mlb, baseball-resources and so on.
What I am talking about is a baseball directory showing links to other related sites that many didn't know where out there.

Speaking of this, what is your favorite baseball links site and why?
Please list something they are missing that you'd like to see be added.

I will give out 50 points for best answer.

http://www.sportsecyclopedia.com/ This one is just fun, w/ oldpics and stats

http://www.baseball-reference.com/ This may be what you were talking about above, but it's great for a stat geek like me.

If you want a page of baseball links, the best that I've found is this one:

http://www.baseball-links.com/

There's not a lot on the page itself, but it's well organized, and each category contains a huge number of links.

If you're looking for just stats, in all types of sorts and variations, then hands down, it has to be this:

http://www.baseball-reference.com/

Although this site doesn't really recognize ***** League players or international players. For example, if you look for Josh Gibson, you'll see that he played in the ***** Leagues (no teams listed), doesn't even list handedness and says that he's in the HOF. And Ichiro Suzuki, according to this site, has played on for the Seattle Mariners. This could be remedied very easily, though, by simply calling the page "major league baseball reference".
