You can get them for face from the Yankees website. You might be able to get them cheaper on craigslist for people who just want to get rid of tickets. Stubhub and ebay are usually marked up. I have gotten cheap tickets from scalpers. Usually I wait until after the 1st/2nd inning and the scalpers will sell them reduced...

The absolute best way to find the cheapest Yankees tickets is to go to http://mlbsupreme.com/yankees.aspx ..that site compares all the ticket prices for the major online ticket vendors (stubhub, razorgator, etc). That will allow you to find the best tickets at the best price!

Hey fan, I just got my tickets, do your homework but if you want to save money and time, Just go to http://www.ibaseballtickets.com/ResultsEvent.aspx?event=New+York+Yankees&pid=735 I did my homework for about a year, with a little bit luck I came across the best prices for any sporting events. I now only go thru them and I always get the best prices out there. I hope this helps.

I bought some at TicketLoot for Yankees RedSox game from ticketloot and believe me I compared.
Do you due diligence though I have gotten lowest fees on ticketloot
I got my opening day ticket from ticketliquidator.com. Good service and you get the physical tickets unlike stubhub which I saw only give electronic tickets for the games I looked at.

I think they are in such high demand that you are going to pay a premium anywhere. I'd find a season ticket holder and see if there'd be any chance taking some of their tickets for teams they aren't crazy about.

You better be prepared to pay $500 + for an upper deck seat for that game. Go to the game before and pray for a rainout.

Try these sites:
http://craigslist.com (best for local, in-person purchases)
http://ticketstumbler.com (compares multiple ticket sites at once)
http://stubhub.com (largest ticket exchange)
http://ticketsnow.com (stubhub's main competitor)
http://razorgator.com (high-end provider)
http://ebay.com (mostly auctions)
