In my view, Posey's injury was huge. They lost one of the most important offensive players and they lost a huge presence behind the plate. I think the Giant's made a huge mistake by not going after an experienced catcher. Bengie Molina may not have brought much offensively, but he would have been a significant improvement over Stewart, and especially Whiteside, behind the plate.

That being said, I think the injury to Freddie Sanchez was the back breaker. The team's slump over the last 30+ games almost perfect coincides with Sanchez going down. Had they not lost Posey, Sanchez would not have been as big of a loss, but without Posey it just makes it huge.

That being said, I do think Keppinger has done a good job filling Sanchez's spot.

Losing Posey hurts more, Losing Sanchez was just the straw that broke the camel's back. Jeff has done fine as our second baseman. Cant say the same for Whiteside or Stewart replacing Posey

I think that Buster Posey's injury was more significant because he has really been the life and soul of the Giants the past two years. I actually think that without Buster Posey last year, The Giants wouldn't win the World Series. He was really the leader of the club house before he got injured. I think the Freddy Sanchez injury was certainly big, but Buster Posey's injury was certainly bigger.

Posey as a catcher and clean up hitter.

But losing Sanchez, arguably one of the best No.2 hitters in baseball, and a respectable second baseman, definitely hurt.

Signing Pat Burrel was also dumb..the guy was basically washed up, but did contribute last year...they didn't need him, they could have gone with a younger better player much earlier.

Posey. You lose the best bat in the lineup. Plus you lose a catcher that can call games for that dominant pitching staff.
