It's usually a matter of trial and error, but the key is finding the one that feels best on your foot. Don't worry about what they look like, but instead try on many brands and styles and see how they feel on your foot (you could be wearing them for 8-12 hours a day if you're in a big tournament). And don't just try them on and stick your foot out or walk around, but make some of the movements you make in your position ... lateral steps, stretches, quick starts or whatever. You might feel a little strange doing these things in the store, but you will be glad you did later.
And don't rule out a non-metal spiked boys baseball shoes either. I know that's what my daughter finally ended up with, even though the same company made the same style for women ... but the cut of the shoe was just a little different.
Then, whenever you do find a shoe that fits, stick with it as long as you can.

go to the store and ask the department sales man or woman for help usually it tells you if its for softball or baseball or football etc so good luck thats why ppl in department stores get paid its there job to know...

nike and addidas is wat i prefer and if you are a little cheap get rebok but i reccomend nike to be the best
