Considering the current 30 teams as continuously operating business entities and including any predecessor franchise history:

Oldest to youngest:

1876 (2) -- Atlanta Braves (as Boston Red Caps), Chicago Cubs (as Chicago White Stockings).

1882 (3) -- Cincinnati Reds (as Cincinnati Red Stockings), Pittsburgh Pirates (as Pittsburgh Alleghenys), St. Louis Cardinals (as St. Louis Brown Stockings).

"Stockings" was quite popular back in the day, huh?

1883 (2) -- Philadelphia Phillies (as Philadelphia Quakers), San Francisco Giants (as New York Gothams).

1884 (1) -- Los Angeles Dodgers (as Brooklyn Atlantics).

1901 (8; a big year, as the American League was founded) -- Baltimore Orioles (as Milwaukee Brewers), Boston Red Sox (as Boston Americans), Chicago White Sox, Cleveland Indians (as Cleveland Blues), Detroit Tigers, Minnesota Twins (as Washington Senators), New York Yankees (as Baltimore Orioles), Oakland Athletics (as Philadelphia Athletics). (Amazingly, yes, none of the original eight AL franchises called New York its home.)

1961 (2; first AL expansion) -- Los Angeles Angels Of Anaheim (as Los Angeles Angels), Texas Rangers (as Washington Senators).

1962 (2; first NL expansion since the turn of the century) -- Houston Astros (as Houston Colt .45's), New York Mets.

1969 (4; both leagues expand) -- Kansas City Royals, Milwaukee Brewers (as Seattle Pilots), San Diego Padres, Washington Nationals (as Montreal Expos).

1977 (2; AL expansion) -- Seattle Mariners, Toronto Blue Jays.

1993 (2; NL expansion) -- Colorado Rockies, Florida Marlins.

1998 (2; MLB expansion/realignment) -- Arizona Diamondbacks, Tampa Bay Rays (as Tampa Bay Devil Rays).

In their current city:

1876 -- Cubs.

1882 -- Reds, Pirates, Cardinals.

1883 -- Phillies.

1901 -- Red Sox, White Sox, Indians, Tigers.

1903 -- Yankees.

1954 -- Orioles.

1958 -- Dodgers, Giants.

1961 -- Twins.

1962 -- Astros, Mets.

1966 -- Braves, Angels*.

1968 -- Athletics.

1969 -- Royals, Padres.

1970 -- Brewers.

1972 -- Rangers.

1977 -- Mariners, Blue Jays.

1993 -- Rockies, Marlins.

1998 -- Diamondbacks, Rays.

2005 -- Nationals.

* The Angels originally played in LA proper, at Dodger Stadium, then moved to Anaheim, where they remain.
