How come Albert can be on pace to match or break 73 home runs and no one asks the steroids question, yet when McGwrie, Sosa and Bonds all had big years there was always someone making the accusation?

I don't think he is on steroids. Perhaps the fact that he is a nice guy has something to do with this. Granted, so is McGwire, but I think the fact that Bonds is basically a jerk and Sosa could be one as well (not to mention the corked bat incident) makes people wonder and suspect about the overall ethics of a person.

Well, McGwire was on Andro before it was banned, no secret there. Sosa is known to have cheated (corked bat) and did grow a giant head (like Bonds, Giambi & McGwire) a pretty classic sign of steroids. But again, during the home run races in 97 & 98, MLB was pretty much an open field for this stuff. Bonds, well, Bonds has all the visible signs, no amount of working out can increase your head size. Plus, lots of people testified to the Grand Jury that he was taking them, he's the only one who said he didn't.
Pujols, on the other hand, has a normal head, he is pretty much just as big as he always was. Anything is possible, but none of the big sluggers of the old days were taking steroids, it is possible to put up big numbers cleanly. Pujols hasn't done anything to make people think he was taking them, all those other guys did.

I do not think Pujols is on steroids. He is just a phenominal athlete. His off season work habits have contributed to his strenght and speed. As others have said his body build has been consistant with no sudden muscle growth. I personally hope he can and does beat Barry Bonds single season record. Steroids or not Bonds has always been aluff and stand offish and this in my opinion is why he has never been endeared by the fans. Where as with Pujols he is humble in that he is always seeming to put team first. IN conclusion once more with the era of frequent testing and the severe penalties to be incurred I do not think he has or will endanger his career by taking steroids.

Why don't you stay out of other people's personal lives? Do you care if your next door neighbor is on steroids to be able to run faster for his own personal gain? No. Should you care if someone famous is doing it? No.
Stop turning regular people into godly figures just because they make more money than you. It's stupid and annoying. I don't care what Mrs. Federline is doing with her kids, I don't care if the lead quarterback of the Dolphins kills his wife and kids because he was on a drug, and I don't care if the president gets a ******** once in a while. Want to know why?
Because people spend so much time worrying about what other people, people who make more money than them, are doing that they aren't paying attention to other things. You don't care if your neighbor is cheating on his wife, why should you care if the president is doing the same? You shouldn't.
But you do.
Why don't you call Mr. Pujols and ask him if he's on steroids. Maybe then you'll get a "piss off" answer because you don't even know the guy and his personal life is none of your business.

A.) Steroids has come up with Pujols several times this year already. esp after he defended barry bonds.
B.) there wasnt much talk about steriods in 98 intil they found andro in mark mcguires locker. but people then chose to ignore those facts.
I dont think albert pujols is on steriods. i think his swing is one of the best ive ever seen and the work he puts in makes him better. Just think how many HR Babe could hit if he hit the weight room or Aaron could've hit if he could break down his swing on tape and see where hes missing on the timing of a curveball. Pujols has a gift and instead of being cynical lets celebrate a really nice guy who loves the game try and make history.

Ya i agree. I doubt that Pujols is on steroids. He is too smart and has too much to lose. He would ruin everything if he got caught. But, you never know. Its always a possibility. And the person above that said they are testing everyone doesnt know waht they are talking about. Theyve done random testing, so many professional ballplayers have not been tested. And also its reasonable to think that the majors are avoiding testing Pujols because if he was positive it would ruin the league. He is their last hope. But overall, i doubt that Pujols is.

I´m not one of Pujols red blood cells to confirm or deny the accusation. The guy seems clean to me! Ok, he´s played only 1/4 of the season, so give him time to cool down... although he seems unstopable right now! He is right now on pace for 81 Hrs... as was Griffey Jr 8 years ago. Lets wait till August!
Bonds and Pujols have never tested positive in any drug test. So lets sit back and let them continue entertaining us!

no. he has been the same size since he came in the league. His production has not gone up or down, just stayed consistent. Pujols is just a great hitter. I don't wanna hear anoher cubs fan like georgie porgie say that he is on roids just because the cubs are setting new records on how to suck so bad, and the cubs fans are jealous because the cardinals have good players and are in first place, and the cubs suck and could not beat a high school girls softball team. Go Cards, cubs suck!

Absolutely not! It's even horrible anyone would even suggest such a thing, Barry Bonds definitely is or was because now that they're testing, he's not doing so good.

BECAUSE THEY ARE CHECKING EVERYONE SINCE THE STEROID STORY CAME OUT GARANTEE PUJOLS HAS ALREADY BEEN CHECKED 20 TIMES BY MLB

Because he didn't go from a lanky build to bulging muscles on the offseason.
